Founded in 1853, Hicks Nurseries is the oldest nursery and garden center on Long Island. We offer a wide selection of indoor and outdoor plants, flowers, and accessories to beautify your garden and home. In addition we have an extensive variety of garden gifts and silk flower arrangements you won't find anywhere else. We have a staff of expert horticulturists available to help you solve any garden problem or to provide a helping hand in making your selections.

Throughout the year we offer free seminars and workshops to help you maintain and care for your garden as well as to introduce you to the latest varieties of shrubs, trees, and perennials. There are also many events for the whole family. In the fall we have our annual fall festival with our "Otto the Ghost" animated adventures, horse drawn hay rides, children's story hours, and pumpkin carving contests. Christmas at Hicks is celebrated with children story hours, visits with Santa Claus and a new holiday animated show each year. The spring season starts with our annual Flower & Garden Show, providing you with an opportunity to come out and see the latest ideas for the coming spring. The two week show also includes many free seminars designed to give you a leg up on the spring season. In the summer our activities include a cooking with herbs workshop, tomato growing contests, and a weekend farmstand of locally grown produce, just to name a few.
